Toxicologic and Dermatologic Assessment of Cyclic and Non-Cyclic Terpene Alcohols When Used as Fragrance Ingredients
This report summarizes safety data relevant to the risk assessment of the use of some cyclic and non-cyclic terpene alcohols as fragrance ingredients.
The common characteristic structural element of acyclic (noncyclic) and cyclic terpene alcohols is the typically branched isoprene unit (2-methyl-1,3-butadiene). Materials covered in this assessment contain two (monoterpenes), three (sesquiterpenes) or four (diterpenes) isoprene units.
